I've recently bought the Omnisat v2 satellite's for a surround 5.1 home theater in my livingroom. In the manual Mirage only gives diagrams for wall mounting, but they mention in the written section that if mounting them on the ceiling they should be mounted the same way as if wall mounting them. The only way I see the speakers can be mounted from the ceiling with the supplied mounting brackets would be to mount them sideways. It seems that having them sideways might be ok, particularly if they are further back behind you for rear surround sound, but in my living room they will be almost directly overhead and to the sides. From what I've read the speakers sound best if they are at ear level or below, thus the reason for mounting them upside down if over 6 feet.
The only way I see that the speakers could be mounted in an upside down orientation from the ceiling, with the supplied mounting brackets, would be to turn the mounting bracket around and bend the bracket 90 degrees. I don't have a problem doing this, with a good vise, if this would be the ideal way to mount the speakers from the ceiling. I have 10 foot ceilings. I already have speaker wires run to the ceiling so I don't want to change from the ceiling to the walls. Perhaps I should look into Mirage's ceiling speakers, but I really liked the way the satellites sounded in Magnolia's sound room. Any advice or experience is appreciated.
Much Thanks in advance,
Randy
