OMNI 550 vs Omnisat v2 FS?

ok, so after an exhaustive audition session at a local retail shop, the only speaker that was remotely interesting was the Omnisat v2 FS (and it was also the least expensive, so I'm really liking Mirage so far) now, on their site I saw the OMNI-550, which looks to have better LF extension (my #1 complaint on the omnisat) which speaker is better in a 2ch set-up, basically, if anyone has an opinion either way? does the 550 lose some midrange/topend clarity to the omnisat? or?

I can't speak for the 550s, but I have a 5.1 setup with the v2 FS as my mains. I do listen to a decent amoutn of 2 ch. audio (w/ and w/o the subwoofer) and I can attest to the 'stereo' quality of the Omnisat FSs. They really extrapolate the soundstage and I do not feel a void in the center.

And on a personal / aesthetic note, if you're trying to decide between the 550 and the v2 FS, I think most people will agree that the v2 FSs are beautiful compared to the wood finish of the others. The only drawback is the high(er) center of gravity so be careful.

The 550 has a bigger box, which I think is ported, hence more bass.

Personally I think the V2sat is way more styling though. Set the crossover appropriately for each speaker. I like to have it 10-20 Hz above the -3 db down point of the loudspeaker. If the spec says the speaker will go down to 90 Hz, choose 100 or 110 (120) if your receiver has that as an option.

OMD28: OMD15.. transparency so refined youre going to need a lot of excuses and a lot of time. right now dont bother with anything else in this world for more than just a listen. save your hours for these two models, under any name at any price. i swear by that. John
